**Species: Canine; American Pit Bull Terrier
Gender: Male
Age: 1 1/2 years.
**Height: 17"
**Weight: 45 lbs.
Fur color: (Pending)
Eye color: Brown.
Parents: ?
Siblings: ?
Offspring: N/A
Appearance
Athletic and surprisingly fit from endless hours of pacing and leaping around his kennel, there isn't much fat on this dog. His color is described in the pit bull world as "buckskin" - a tawny colored body with a darker muzzle. His eyes are an intelligent and inquisitive deep brown in color, never missing a thing.
Personality
- Has a tendency to be stubborn, despite his keen intelligence, and can be a handful for an inexperienced owner. Whoever adopts him must be as strong-willed and stubborn as he is!
- Very affectionate with people, especially children, though he may overwhelm a very young child with his over exuberant greetings.
History
Like many of their kind, Indy's litter was bred for the purpose of profit. With both parents descending from "game-bred" pit bulls, the breeder of the litter saw nothing but dollar signs. Unfortunately he didn't bargain on the fact that there are already millions of pit bulls sitting in shelters or being sold off, and too few homes to take them. When only a handful of the pups were purchased, Indy and the remaining two of his litter were dropped off at the pound.
There are few things more adorable than a pit bull puppy, and Indy and his sisters were quickly adopted. Unfortunately, due to the stigma of their breed, the puppies were labled as "Boxer crosses". As Indy grew and it became apparent that he was not a boxer, his owners tiptoed around him with an aura of fear and mistrust.
Confused and bewildered as to why his family was suddenly on eggshells around him, and picking up on their negative aura, (Pending) acted as any puppy in the same situation would - he became unruly, chewing things and showing overall bad manners. Convinced that it was due to the "nature of the breed" as opposed to their poor handling and their failure to provide proper training, Indy's family dropped him off at another pound. Now a fully grown pit bull and intimidating-looking to those not familiar with the breed's true nature, visitors to the shelter would inevitably pass him over.
His time at the shelter drawing to a close and euthanasia an almost certainty, (Pending) found himself being pulled from one shelter and being brought to yet another.
